Route to Club Success
Here at Route we pride ourselves on being the leading advisory service supporting the club sector. Our expertise is recognised by having associations with many of the main club groups which include Associated Church Clubs (ACC), the Club Institute Union (CIU),National Union of Labour Clubs, National Union of Liberal Clubs, The Royal Naval Association and Bowls England.
Route is made up of business advisors and consultants who have operated successfully in their own right before joining us. As a result we are people who have not only done it, we also have the T shirt and scars to prove that we know what we are talking about. The Route team has a wealth of experience in working with clubs, identifying what their individual needs are and providing solutions to help maximize the potential of the operation and its profitability. In essence we help you to make money and save money. We do this by carrying out and providing some of the following:
• Club Business Health Check
• Financial Planning, Feasibility studies and Project management
• Marketing Reports
• Merchandising Reports and Training to Maximise Gross Margin
• Purchasing Solutions on all aspects of the operation

“In September 2006, following 12 years of supply of our bar and catering operations by an outside management company, the Club made a brave decision to bring both operations back in house. The Route Organisation, who were already advising us on some aspects of the business, were engaged in their consultative capacity following a presentation at the RMA, now the BICM, Annual General Meeting and were tasked with guiding us through the transfer of our operations to our own in house management team. The mammoth task for a Committee with no expertise in the operation of bars and catering benefited from Route providing advice on feasibility, project management and supplier selection culminating in a smooth transfer of business in April 2007. West Midlands Police Sports & Social Club has enjoyed a long and successful partnership with the Route Organisation and we continue to work together to identify further cost savings, greater efficiency and most importantly provide a continually improving service to our members. We are confident that this partnership will last for many years to come.”
Colin Bowers, Secretary, West Midlands Police Sports & Social Club
“I first came across the Route Organisation through a very strong recommendation from St Andrew’s Golf Club, they had experienced Route first hand, and had signed up with the Organisation. The first element with Route was to supply all our invoices so that they could then analyse what we were paying and identify the key areas of saving. This was not what I had experienced from other companies who simply give you a list of prices that they had negotiated and if you had time you could look through and see which ones suited you. This does not work as I do not have the time to work everything out myself to see which packages were best.
The Route exercise was highly advantageous. The presentation from Route gave the business an immediate health check and let me see exactly where I needed to focus my attention to improve the club. This above all was a huge benefit to me and not to be underestimated given my limited involvement. I would seriously suggest that everyone sits down with this company and let them look at your supplies
to see where they can assist you. It was also good to know that I had a company that was interested in my business and not simply trying to sell me the best deal for them.”
