“In 2006 we asked Route to help us negotiate with developers to sell our club and its land and relocate to a new purpose built premises of a modern, more manageable nature. We were saddled with onerous legal options and faced an uncertain future as the developers’ ideas on what constituted a finished and acceptable club differed from our expectations. With Route’s assistance we were able to gain commitment to a completely finished and operational premises, ensuring our long term survival. Route continue to advise us as we prepare to move to our new club with the best suppliers and contracts in place to ensure we control costs and maximize profits.”
Jeff Chatburn, President & Chairman, Saltney Social Club

We are reviewing all the time the services and support we offer to clubs and this year we launched Route to Excellence as we recognised the need to support the people who want a career in the club market by providing training and educational programmes across the country. Route have joined forces with the BII to provide a framework of Club Management Qualifications. Rob Morrall, the Managing Director of Route, this year attended the Club Managers of America Conference in February and found that “What was very impressive was the number of students at the conference looking at the different opportunities in the club market and the amount of educational programmes available to club managers, albeit it was for golf clubs rather than social clubs. However, we need to work better at providing the training and education in the whole of the club market here in the UK to enable the Club culture to survive and prosper.” Route has developed programmes specifically for the Club sector for both staff and management to access high quality training and professional qualifications.
