DAY ONE
- Welcome: Conference Director, Rob Gerrard, welcomed delegates
- Sport England: Sport England's head of staff, Mike diaper, explored the importance of Sport in general and provided insights into how Sport England perceives the successful Olympic bid for 2012. What are the positive effects on sport participation throughout the country as a whole? And how can this benefit clubs in general – and sports specifically?
- Robert Morral, route Organisation Ltd: the importance of training and qualifications was emphasised. Route explained its offering to clubs – from its traditional base of purchasing solution, to helping cubs maximise their potential. With route’s business partner ABV training, David Hawbrook, managing director, then presented the BII award in Responsible Alcohol Retailing. This was followed by delegates sitting the BII Accreditation exam, with 100% pass rate.
- Evening: Wine tasting with Matthew Clark; dinner.
