COMMUNICATIONS
The Institute is committed to delivering news and key information on contemporary issues to
members. The website, newsletters and press releases keep members informed of change.
The website especially is a focal point that keeps members aware of major issues common
to club managers and the Institute is dedicated in developing expertise in recognising problems,
understanding the need for change and in helping identify and implement solutions. The Institute
also publishes an annual handbook which is an invaluable working tool that includes members'
details, commercial suppliers and information up-dates.

ORGANISATION
The Institute’s affairs are run by a small Board of Directors which includes managers and leaders
from some of the clubs, as well as Executives from the Route Organisation and partners.
The Executive Director runs the day-to-day management of the Organisation including strategy,
membership services and financial affairs and he is a point of contact for advice and information
on a daily basis.  Members are encouraged to get involved and bring their expertise in helping plan
the Institute’s policy and events not just for business affairs but also for occasional social functions
where members can discuss future developments and the latest news.

EDUCATION
BICM organises an annual Conference which gives members the opportunity to attend sessions
presented by leading club industry speakers and it's one of the main events on the club manager's
calendar, providing time for networking, product up-dates and discussion in a relaxed professional
environment. From time to time, BICM will hold seminars to deal with pressing issues and is proactive
in responding to change in the market place.

LINKS
The Institute is establishing links with other leading professional bodies in the sports and leisure industry.
BICM's Directors sit on the Sport Working Group of BISL (Business in Sport and Leisure), the major leisure
industry lobbying group where the Institute's members' views are represented and are taken into account in
decision making processes. The Institute is also a member of the Central Committee for Physical Recreation
and Sports and Play Construction Association and has links with the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management.
Contacts with Clubs Associations are being established through the Institute's partnership with the route Organisation.
