Who we are
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Sarah Griffin
Membership Director
Sarah Griffin joined the BBC with a remit to develop health and fitness facilities and services for staff and to modernise its London sports and social club: the BBC Club.
The Club was formed in the late 1920s with a mission to provide social unity and recreational facilities to BBC staff. This mission still underpins the values of the Club today. Owned and run by its members, the Club is funded by members’ subscriptions and trading activity.
Before joining the BBC, Sarah’s experience was gained in both commercial and public service sectors, in leisure, fitness and hospitality management.
She is a Vanguard member of the FIA (Fitness Industry Association) and member of ISPAL and is responsible for Recruiting, Retention and Membership Benefits for the Institution.
Rob Gerrard
Conference Director
Rob is the Managing Director at Ruskin Leisure, formerly the Pilkingtons Recreation Club in St. Helens, Lancashire. His role is to co-ordinate BICM annual conference, each October, including the location, educational and social programmes and the delivery of the 'Conference for Professional Leaders in Club Management'.
Glenn Ashley
Executive Director
Glenn was a former Club General Manager with both ICL/Fujitsu and Celestica for more than 15 years before becoming the full time Executive Officer of the RMA in 2004. Glenn is now responsible for the complete administration for the BICM and should be regarded as the vital point of contact for all enquires to the Institue.
